In addition to being named Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association District 10 Class 3A First-Team All-Stars, Warren seniors Lindsay Madigan and Maddy Jones, and junior Madelyn Nosel have also been named to the all-state team.

After advancing to the D10 3A championship game, Warren’s trio joins three D10-champion Meadville Bulldogs on the all-state team.

“It’s quite an honor and speaks volumes about the entire Warren volleyball team to get three players on the all-state team in a single season,” said Warren coach Mike Dolan, “especially considering we graduated three different all-state players last year. This year, these three have certainly earned it, as each of them is an incredible athlete and put in so much work to improve individually. To say they stood out on the court is an understatement.”

Madigan shined offensively on the court.

“Lindsay Madigan was often able to control entire matches with her jump serving, high-flying setting, unique offensive attacking abilities and pure athleticism,” said Dolan. “She has really focused on her setting consistency and technique this season and it paid off. Her main targets were two of the best outside hitters around in Madelyn Nosel and Maddy Jones.”

Jones was arguably the Dragons’ best all-around player.

“Maddy Jones simply did everything well for the team as a six-rotation player,” said Dolan. “On defense, she was among the team leaders in digs and serve-receptions. On offense, possessing a uniquely fast arm swing, she was second on the team in aces and led the team in hitting and kill percentage. She ended her career with an incredible 806 kills, second most all-time for the team.”

Nosel burst onto the scene this year for Warren.

“Madelyn Nosel truly had a breakout season, with great defense, serving and net play where she was unstoppable at times,” said Dolan. “She had double-digit kills in an incredible 20 matches this season as she set a school record of 453 kills in a single season. Only a junior, as her all-around game continues to improve and with the hard work she always puts in, she and her teammates look to continue the high-level team play next year.

“A big congratulations to these three girls on their well-deserved honor,” Dolan added, “and a shout out all to their teammates for their efforts, abilities and success.”
