Dragons swim in Frewsburg
FREWSBURG, N.Y. — Basketball players from Warren Area High School weren’t the only athletes to travel to New York on Friday. Warren’s swim teams got in some work at Frewsburg High School.
“The ladies’ team swam against themselves as the New York teams split seasons,” said Warren swim coach Brandon Gregg. “Our boys competed against a large, competitive boys team (Frewsburg/Southwestern/Jamestown/Falconer) who has their eye on a state record in the 400-meter relay. Since this was a sizable mixed event, we decided our friendly scrimmage would be unscored.
“There were outstanding performances today from our swimmers,” added Gregg. “Lucy Harrison put up impressive times in the 100-meter backstroke and butterfly, while Emma Peterson and Katie Krogler have been putting up some excellent times in the 200-meter and 400-meter races. Lindsay Ball, one of our first-year seniors, has been swimming her heart out for every race and improving her times quickly.”
Warren is next at Titusville on Jan. 6.
