On the all-region coaches’ list, sophomore libero Malysia Sorensen now joins them.

Offensively, Madigan continually fed outside hitters Jones and Nosel. Madigan finished her high school career with 2,622 assists, including 940 this season. Jones ended with 870 kills and– second all-time for the program, including 370 as a senior. Nosel broke the program’s single-season kills record as a junior with 453.

But Sorensen focused entirely on defense, and she was recognized this week with a nod on the all-Region 5 second team.

A defensive specialist playing only in the back row, Sorensen led the Dragons with 553 digs.

“It’s been quite an offseason for recognitions,” said Warren coach Mike Dolan. “I’m really happy to see Malysia getting honored as she was a huge part of our success this season and is one of the top liberos in the district. In her first year as a varsity starter, she really embraced her role and delivered some terrific performances. She led the team with 553 digs and her 5.3 digs per set ranks second best in a single season all-time for Warren. She also had 589 serve-receptions and was second on the team with assists. Knowing how hard she works and strives to succeed, we look forward to big things from her for the next two years.”
