Big third quarter lifts Dragons past Titusville
Logan Crissey and Leihden Wotorson combined for 13 points in Warren’s 22-3 third quarter en route to a 59-31 Region 5 win over Titusville on Tuesday at Warren Area High School.
Crissey finished with a game-high 26 points and Wotorson added 16 as the Dragons improved to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in the region after a weather-related layoff.
“The first half can be summed up in four words: turnovers, fouls, bad shots,” said Warren coach Jeff Berdine. “This is kind of what both coaches expected after such a long layoff. We really tried to stress better quality possessions to start the second half, more patience, and we showed that.”
Titusville, which finished 9-of-22 at the free-throw line, fell to 2-8 overall.
“Our press has been a work in progress, trying to figure out the best combinations,” said Berdine. “I thought the guys did a good job in the second half with it. Their turnovers allowed us to get the momentum and stretch the lead.”
