CORRY HANDLES WARREN

CORRY — Corry’s wrestling team won 11 of 12 matches on the mat in a 66-6 Region 3 win over Warren.

The Beavers improve to 3-0 in the region; Warren is 1-2 in Region 3.

“A few bright spots tonight,” said Warren coach Glenn Baldensperger. “Timmy Giger with a win. Patrick Ross with his first dual meet match and a pin. Ryan Letko saved the shutout tonight. We expected a really good Corry team and that’s what we saw. A few bright spots, but time to move forward.”

Giger’s and Ross’ wins came in junior varsity matches, and Warren trailed 39-0 before Letko took the mat at 145 pounds. He led 5-2 before a pin 1:34 into the first round.

Starting at $2.99/week.
