Ike boys win at General McLane
EDINBORO — Casey Seymour scored 22 points and teammate Gavin Lindemuth added 18 as the Eisenhower boys basketball team went on the road and defeated General McLane 56-53 on Friday night.
The Knights held a 16-14 lead after the first quarter and 36-29 at the half thanks to 3-pointers by Seymour and Lindemuth. But the Lancers came out of the locker room on fire and outscored Eisenhower 19-7 to take a five-point lead at 48-43 heading into the final period.
The Knights played great defense in the fourth quarter and held the General McLane to just five points. Lindemuth had 7 points in the final quarter and Seymour was 3-for-4 from the free throw line to lead the Knights.
Eisenhower head coach Ryan Mangini was impressed with his team’s performance.
“This was the best we have rebounded as a team this season and our focus has been being better on the ball on defense,” he said. “The guys stepped up tonight in both of those categories.”
The Lancers were led by Isaac Zeitz, who scored a game-high 24 points.
The Knights are back in action on Tuesday for a home region game against Cambridge Springs. The junior varsity game starts at 6 p.m.
