“John Rossi wrestled a great match tonight, and Heubach and Bunce got a nice couple of pins,” Eisenhower head coach Jared Lindell said. “That Holden kid from Sheffield was tough. Chambers just ran into a buzzsaw in him.. All in all, I was proud of how we wrestled tonight.”

Sheffield’s Travis Childress and Alex Marfink earned forfeits at 152 pounds and 160 pounds, respectively, to give their team a 23-18 lead.

The lead was short-lived as Eisenhower’s Corey Bunce earned a hard-fought second-period pin over James Wagner at 172 pounds to give the Knights a 24-23 lead they would not relinquish.

In the last match of the evening, it was Eisenhower senior Aiden Heubach at 215 pounds, who earned a pin over Joby Hilyer at the 1:32 mark.

Earning wins by forfeit for the Knights were Bryceton Wilkins at 189 pounds, Jacob Stuart at 285 pounds, Huck Fedorchuk at 105 pounds and Rever Caudill at 114 pounds.

“I thought the guys went out and took care of business tonight,” Lindell said. “It was good to see our seniors go out on a good note.”
