Warren 28th as team at Fred Bell
GROVE CITY — Warren’s wrestling team was 28th out of 42 teams in this weekend’s Fred Bell Tournament at Grove City High School.
Warren senior Adika Fiscus (20-6) was the team’s top individual finisher in seventh place at 127 pounds. He had a technical-fall win over Williamsport’s Steven Bott, a 29-second pin over Avonworth’s Jackson Colusci, a first-period pin over Titusville’s Andrew Donaldson, and a major decision over Southwestern’s Carmine Calimeri. His losses included via major decision to Grove City’s Tanner Hamilton and by decision (8-2) to North East’s Bryson Galloway.
“Adika really showed improvement this weekend in arguably wrestling in the deepest bracket in the tournament,” said Warren coach Glenn Baldensperger. “He was seeded 11th as a two-time regional qualifier. Sierra Chiesa, a two-time state qualifier, was seeded 10th. Adika finished in seventh place. He avenged a major-decision loss from the STOWA finals to Carmine Calimeri of Southwestern with a major-decision win in the blood round. He then finally picked up a win (3-2 decision) against Sierra for seventh place.”
Ryan Letko finished 3-2, losing in the blood round at 145 pounds.
Finishing with two wins for Warren were Cole Fitzgerald (107) and Carter Campbell (152) and one win each from Cameron Williams (139) and Tyson Harkins (285).
“We are happy with our kids’ willingness to prepare and work at getting better,” said Baldensperger. “Harbor Creek will be a tough test for the Dragons this Wednesday at home.”
Grove City won its own tourney with 197 points to Kiski Area’s 186.5.
