Manning’s 33 not enough for Eagles in Friday loss

ERIE — Youngsville hung around awhile but was ultimately overwhelmed by Erie First Christian in an 82-60 setback Friday in Erie.

David Manning scored a career-high 33 points in the loss, knocking down seven three-pointers in one of the season’s finest shooting displays. Teammate Rylan Benton finished his regular season with a 15-point performance.

Avery Collins led Erie First with 29 points with Ayden Blum adding 21 points and Simon Gonzales 14 more.

Youngsville wraps up the regular season with a 12-8 record, including a 3-7 mark in an extremely tough Region 3. The Eagles now await the announcement of District 10 Class A playoff brackets to determine when and where their postseason will begin.
