SHINGLEHOUSE — Oswayo Valley sent Sheffield’s boys basketball team back to Earth on Saturday in a 69-38 mercy-rule win at Oswayo Valley High School.

After Sheffield’s second win of the season on Thursday, Oswayo Valley jumped out to a 28-9 first quarter and cruised.

“Tale of two teams,” said Sheffield coach Jordan Copley, whose Wolverines are now 2-17. “Too many turnovers, couldn’t make shots at the basket, and just seemed to be flat. Unfortunately, we have played too inconsistent all season long.”

Dawson Welch finished with 23 points for OV, and teammate Ridge Mesler added 20.

LaShawn Williams had 15 points for Sheffield with Colby Barr adding 10.
