ERIE — Warren’s swim team swept host Mercyhurst Prep on Thursday at Penn State Behrend.

While the wins are nice, the Dragons are trying to earn every district-qualifying time they can before the postseason. They are at Erie High on Monday and host Meadville on Thursday, as well as a makeup home meet with Mercyhurst Prep on Feb. 17, to end the regular season. There is also a diving invitational at McDowell on Feb. 14.

“We are gunning for another boys relay and always striving for more individual qualifiers,” said Warren coach Brandon Gregg, whose Lady Dragons won 135-17 on Thursday and the boys, 78-14.

“Another massive time drop for Lexi Paris, netting her first ever high school individual district qualifier,” added Gregg. “Kinzlea Chase bested her diving score with a new PR of 190.95 (points).”

First-place finishes for the Lady Dragons included Katie Krogler (200-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke), Sam Caudill (200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke), Lucy Harrison (50-yard freestyle), Gracie Page (diving), Madeline Walker (100-yard freestyle), Emma Peterson (500-yard freestyle) and Paris (100-yard butterfly).

Relay winners included Walker, Caudill, Harrison and Peterson in the 200-yard medley relay, Walker, Caudill, Krogler and Harrison in the 200-yard free relay, and Ella Porier, Krogler, Charlotte Keeports and Adelaide Keeports in the 400-yard free relay.

In the Dragon boys’ win, first-place finishers were Drake Niemetz (50-yard free and 100-yard free), Brody Alexander (100-yard breaststroke), and Jacob Retterer (100-yard back). The relay winners were Aaron Gausman, Alexander, Kaleb Niemetz and Chris Orth in the 200-yard medley relay, Retterer, Gausman, Kaleb Niemetz, and Drake Niemetz in the 200-yard free relay, and Orth, Retterer, Alexander and Drake Niemetz in the 400-yard free relay.
