3 county regional qualifiers have their wrestling seasons end

ADIKA FISCUS
HAYDEN HOLDEN
REVER CAUDILL

SHARON — Seasons came to an end for Warren’s Adika Fiscus, Sheffield’s Hayden Holden, and Eisenhower’s Rever Caudill at this weekend’s North West Regional 2A Wrestling Championships at Sharon High School.

Fiscus also sees his high school career end as a senior, finishing 2-2 at 127 pounds in his last tournament. He finishes with 90 career wins and three trips to regionals, and it would have been more wins had his freshman season not ended due to injury.

Fiscus won by technical fall (Central Clarion’s Wyatt Aaron) and lost by tech fall (Reynolds’ Logan Stewart) on Friday before two closer results. He defeated General McLane’s Mason McDonald, 7-3, for the third time in three weeks to finish his senior season at 32 wins. He was eliminated by Ridgway’s Nathan Steiger, 4-1, in the consolation second round.

Ike’s Caudill finishes with 31 victories for his sophomore season, and he fell just short of qualifying for states with his sixth-place finish at 114 pounds. Caudill opened with a tech fall win over Prep’s Aiden Carter before falling to Clearfield’s Bo Aveni. On Saturday, Caudill beat Sharpsville’s David Miller for the second time in two weeks before two losses to end his season — the second a 5-0 decision loss to Port Allegany’s Brennan Fillhart in the fifth-place match.

Sheffield junior Hayden Holden was 0-2 after a bye into the second round at 133 pounds. The District 9 runner-up fell to D10’s third-place finisher, Hickory junior Brody Bishop, before getting decked by Fort LeBoeuf junior Brody Myers. Holden has 84 wins in three seasons after a 35-10 junior season.

Starting at $2.99/week.
