Wrestling club

The Kinzua Youth Development Center, headquarters of the Kinzua Wrestling Club (200 Struthers St., Warren), will feature Koltyn Eason at their freestyle practice on Thursday from 6-7:30 p.m.

The session is open to all ages and is geared for wrestlers planning to compete in Pennsylvania’s USA Wrestling tournaments this spring.

Eason was a 2022 graduate of Edinboro University and currently a physical education teacher-coach in the Meadville school system. He serves as the middle school wrestling coach and was a member of the wrestling team during his time at Edinboro University.

As an educator he appears to mirror KYDC’s mission by providing students with leadership and movement opportunities (e.g., brain break activities) in a safe educational environment. He also, like the KYDC emphasizes leadership and “helping others” as a mentor in the “Link Crew” at MASH (e.g., where a group of upperclassmen directly support incoming freshmen through positive interactive activities). Finally, he is certified in crisis intervention and as a CPR instructor.
