Dragons sweep Titusville in season-opening track meet

TITUSVILLE — Warren’s track and field teams started strong on Tuesday in a sweep of host Titusville at Ed Myers Complex.

“We had a really good day against Titusville,” said Warren coach Kevin Dustin, whose boys team won, 99.5-49.5, and Lady Dragons, 102-48. “We presented the challenge to the kids that we want to come out of the gates strong and compete hard despite the weather. It was really great to see the kids enjoy their success. The main focus now is to continue to see how much we can grow and improve throughout the year and build on this momentum. We had several kids at or better than their best last year in multiple events, and we had a host of district qualifiers already. A lot of new faces got that first meet under their belt and we had some big performances. They really showed as a team they are willing to contribute and be strong in all areas. It was a great start to the season and we are looking to keep going.”

For the Lady Dragons, Morgan Alexander won the 800, 1,600, and 3,200, Adison Cullers won the 100- and 300-meter hurdles, Lilly Newton the 400, Madelyn Nosel the 100, Julia Getner high jump, Attie Corey shot put, Zoe Rodgers discus, and Grace Carr javelin. Warren’s girls also won the 1,600 and 3,200 relays.

For Warren’s boys, Sam Lindell won the 800, 1,600, and 3,200, Max Spiegel long jump and high jump, Adon Maier the 110 hurdles, Patrick Ross the 300 hurdles, Leyton Salvatore pole vault, and Trey Carrington triple jump. Warren swept the boys’ relays.

Starting at $2.99/week.
