Eagles lose baseball opener

YOUNGSVILLE — Youngsville’s baseball season got off to a tough start Friday with an 18-0 season-opening loss to the Kane Wolves at Davis Street Field.

The Wolves batted around the order in all three innings and took advantage of eight Youngsville errors on their way to the victory.

Preston Darr was 3-for-4 with five RBIs for the winners while starting pitcher Finn Chamberlain allowed just one hit in three innings while striking out seven.

Youngsville’s lone hit of the contest came in the bottom of the third when James Johnson clubbed a two-out double to left.

The Eagles (0-1) will return to action Monday when they travel to Jamestown, Pennsylvania.

Starting at $2.99/week.
