Week 2 of the Warren Youth Climbing League saw the Division B matchup of the Allegheny Outfitters Sasquatches and the Stonehill Chocolates Cocoa Bombs, and the Division A meet featuring the Whirley Tornadoes and the Kinzua Vet Clinic Bulls.
The Division B meet saw Allegheny Outfitters leading right from the start. Jaxson Boozer, Harrison Cathcart, Grayson Woods and Owen Heath all averaging over 20 points rocketed the Sasquatches into a commanding lead. Stonehill Chocolates rallied behind the strong performance of Riley Littlefield who came on late in the second period. His 32.7-point average boosted the Cocoa Bomb’s overall score. However, it wasn’t enough to close the gap. The final score: Allegheny Outfitters 162.0 and the Stonehill Chocolates 127.0.
The Division A matchup was closer. This match between the Whirley Tornadoes and Kinzua Vet Clinic Bulls was too close to call all the way to the final period. Veteran climbers Owen Ash and Coleman Miller both averaged over 30 points, which forced the Tornadoes to rise the challenge, or fall behind. Led by sisters Nina and Eloise Harrington, the Whirley climbers did just that. Both girls, along with teammate Isaac Boisvert surpassed the 30-point average. Fueled by a strong team performance, the Tornadoes pulled away from the Bulls for a 153.3 to 139.7 finish.
