Season-ending volleyball success

Beaty Warren Middle School’s eighth-grade volleyball team wrapped up its 2025 season by winning the Commodore Perry Junior High Tournament on Saturday. In pool play, the Dragons defeated Titusville 25-12, Mercer 25-14 and Jamestown, Pa, 25-6 and were defeated by Reynolds 18-25. Their record secured them the second seed and a bye into the semifinals where they again faced off against Titusville and won 25-15, to advance to the finals. In the other semifinal, Mercer beat Reynolds. In the final, Beaty won 25-19, 25-20, to its season with an overall record of 12-1. The Dragons also placed third at the Maplewood Tournament the previous weekend. The seventh-grade team also competed at Commodore Perry on Saturday and placed third. Beaty’s eighth-graders at Commodore Perry included, from left, in front, Alliesun Woodin, Madalynn Sliter, Kelsey Johnson and Lily White and, in back, Kendyl Maier, Haley Stimmell, Kendall Skerda, Annika Wyman, Joanna Bennett, Ava Wymer, Khloe Morse and Terra Monroe.
