Warren boys tennis team sweeps Titusville 5-0

Warren’s boys tennis team grabbed its second win of the season on Saturday with a 5-0 sweep over visiting Titusville at Betts Park.

At first singles, Lucas Thrift defeated Jaxon Warner, 6-4, 7-5.

At No. 2, Brody Alexander defeated Quincy Sampson, 6-0, 6-0.

At third singles, Jaxon Thrift defeated Amelia Warner, 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, Jack Lynds and Karson McCollough defeated Molly Covell and Mariah Covell, 6-0, 6-1.

Owen Baldensberger and Dominic Holmberg defeated Carson Ongley and Mary Herps, 6-1, 6-0.

Ben Scott, Finn Ordiway, Collin Ellis, Bill Bennett, Grady Corey, Josh Westover, Elliot Striker, Yaman Kolasinli, Tobiah Reinard, Sebastian Lawson, Kaden Werner, Lincoln Olsen, and Karson Werner were all victorious for Warren in junior varsity play.

“Titusville came with a large team this year, giving every player from both teams an opportunity to get a match in today, which made for a great day of tennis,” said Warren coach Thomas Pellegrino, whose Dragons are 2-0 and travel to Oil City today for a non-region matchup.
