OIL CITY — Alexis Jones homered for Warren’s softball team in a 20-0 three-inning road win on Saturday over host Oil City.

“It was nice to see solid hits again,” said Warren coach Carissa Stuart, whose Dragons are 3-0 overall. “Alexis was due and I’m happy to see her get her first varsity home run. It was a shot that landed at the top of the bank past the left field fence.”

Warren senior pitcher Alana Stuart retired all nine batters she faced, including six strikeouts.

“Region games start (this) week,” said Coach Stuart. “It’s just going to get tougher, but it’s exciting for the girls to start off 3-0. We’re going to keep at it and get some more wins.”
