Dragons softball downs Erie

OLIVIA ROMANOSKY
Warren’s softball team got back in the win column on Wednesday with a 17-7 Region 6 victory over Erie High at Lady Dragons Field.
“Clutch hits were key tonight,” said Warren coach Carissa Stuart, whose Dragons are 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the region. Erie is 0-2 in Region 6.
Emily Davidson homered in Warren’s 7-run sixth inning to ensure the Dragons won by the 10-run rule.
“Emily’s home run really broke it open for us,” said Coach Stuart. “Olivia (Romanosky) pitched four solid innings, although I wish our defense would have been better behind her. Our whole lineup was productive tonight, and that makes a big difference.”
Offensively, leadoff-hitter Malysia Sorensen reached base all five times up with a double, triple, and three walks. She scored four times.
Alana Stuart had three hits, and she threw the last two scoreless innings for Warren, striking out five batters.
Alexis Jones also had three hits for Warren in the win.
