Erie High rallies to beat Warren 8-5
Erie High scored six unanswered runs in the last three innings for an 8-5 Region 6 win over Warren on Tuesday at Old Legion Field.
The Dragons outhit Erie, 11-9, but the Royals snapped their six-game losing streak to move to 2-6 overall and 1-3 in the region.
“We hit the ball really well today,” said Warren coach John White, whose Dragons are 0-7 and 0-3 respectively. “We jumped on pitches in the zone and got after it early in the game, but we took our foot off the gas pedal again when we were ahead. We made some mistakes on the basepaths today, myself included. We’re on the right track; we just need to keep our foot on the gas pedal from first pitch to the last out.”
Eli Snyder, Felix Valencia, Tage Wyman, and Bradey Chase had two hits each for Warren, and the first six batters in the order had base hits.
Snyder allowed just one earned run over four-plus innings and left with the lead.
