Conservation District art contest winners announced

The Warren County Conservation District held their fifth art contest for children in kindergarten through 12th grades.

The theme this year was “Home is Where the Habitat Is” with 67 entries received. A People’s Choice contest was also held for artwork from March 18 to March 31. Prizes and ribbons were provided by the Warren County Visitor Bureau including a first place prize of $25, a second place prize of $20 and a third place prize of $15 in each age group.

Ribbons were also given to the People’s Choice winners in each age group. Winners are:

Kindergarten through second grade: Logan Woldt, first place; Adley Brown, second place; Greyson Gaeta, third place.

Third and fourth grades: Isabella Smith, first place; Avery Woldt, second place; Eden Bingman, third place.

Fifth and sixth grades: Arianna Roman, first place; Laura Fanelli, second place; Kathryn Smith, third place.

Ninth through 12th grades: Nina Woldt, first place; Juliet Fargo, second place; Oliver Varner, third place.

People’s Choice winners were Logan Woldt, kindergarten through second grades; Isabella Smith, third and fourth grades; Elsie Woldt, fifth and sixth grades; and Nina Woldt, seventh through 12th grades.

Additionally, the Warren County Conservation District is now holding their sixth annual photo contest sponsored by Allegheny Outfitters. Photo categories are abandoned buildings, baby animals, leaves and machinery. Photos will be accepted until Sept. 12. For more information visit www.wcconservation.net.
